Tutira Mai Nga Iwi is a coming together & supporting waiata for everyone to join and sing along in.
This waiata is the most used around the country, since it is a waiata of being people together and is a showing of love and dedication.
At my old school: Tamaki Primary, This waiata was an amazing and special song that everyone loved to sing, even when going to trips. Since our school is all about Originality and Culture. Maori,Samoan,Tongan,Fijian and Cook Island songs/waiatas are sung at special occasions but the most sung is Tutira Mai Nga Iwi.
I Love this song because it warms my heart to see everyone singing to it, and because i love laughing deep inside my heart about how the boys sing real loud and go off key.
if you want to hear and listen to this inspiring song here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxorRtINRTc :D Merry Christmas and Happy New year :)
Hi Paris,
ReplyDeleteRuby here from the Summer Learning Journey team :)
Wow! What awesome work you have done here! Your blogs are all so thoughtful and interesting.
This waiata is a really lovely one, I agree. How cool that you get to sing it so often at your school and that your school is focused on celebrating culture too!
Do you like to sing very much? I am always singing around my house. It annoys my family a little bit because I'm hardly ever quiet!
I look forward to reading more of your blogs.
Cheers,
Ruby.
